The Back on Track project

Take Financial Control
The Aim
The aim of the Back on Track project is to help people with severe payment and debt problems who fall outside the money and debt counselling services. Our particular goal is to reach people with a background of criminal activity or substance abuse, psychiatric patients, people suffering from game addiction and members of other marginalised groups.

Getting your finances in order can sometimes be a long process. A voluntary non-professional worker can help by receiving the hopelessness and anxiety caused by the situation, giving hope of solving the problems and helping to carry out the solutions.

The project develops operational models based on the work of voluntary workers, and creates a network of voluntary workers. After the project is finished, the network remains a part of the permanent activity of the organisations cooperating in the project. In addition, the project offers the staff of the partner organisations courses on fi nancial management and the support systems of money and debt counselling.

Cooperation Partners

Back on Track is a national network project managed and coordinated by the Guarantee Foundation. The Federation of A Guilds, A-Clinic Foundation, the Probation Foundation Finland, Finnish Central Association for Mental Health, Finnish Federation of Settlements, Finnish Blue Ribbon and Finnish Association for Mental Health participate in the project.

Realising the Project
The project is carried out during the years 2006–2009. It is developed in smaller projects realised with the partner organisations. The Back on Track project is funded by Finland’s Slot Machine Association.
